Chanel influence styles in the 1920's was by couturier Paul Poiret who was a  leading french fashion designer in the two decades of 20th century. 





He produced the luxury term 'poverty de luxe' ........ which was also a similar promoted pared-down style by couturiers Jane Regny and Jean Patou. Womens attitude to dress was changing and knitted sportswear had become a popular choice of garment which was popular. 



'Coco Chanel' introducted cardigans, jumpers and suits in woolen jersey twinsets in neutral colours which was a classic in the 1920's. This season at The fashiona nd textiles museum it focused of 1920's jerseys and the 1930's swimsuits. 



This led to designers like Vivienne Westwood and Julien Macdonald, the range of designers is what makes the exhibition such a marvellous experience.
