Requirements for registering a Trademark:

• Graphical representation
• Capable of distinguishing goods and services,
• Distinctive description
• Publicity policy/morality.

Trademarks can be registered at the UK Intellectual property office that covers only the UK boarder which charges £170 to register a trademark, however in a Spanish office the trade mark will cover the whole of Europe. Your entitlement for this trademark can last for 10 years, but it can be revoked if it is unused after 5 years of registering. 

To register your trademark globally it will cost £500,000 this trademark is license to one distributer worldwide if registered correctly, if not the trademark could be used elsewhere.

The marks that distinguish one business from another are-
names, logos, graphics, symbols and colour. e.g Ralph Laurent trademark consist of laurel wreath on the left hand side of their t-shirt designs. 

Trademarks can be infringed- this means the action of breaking the terms of the law or agreement

.Using something that will likely confuse a consumer into thinking its another brand/label

China are were most brands are registered as a design without allowance of the designer, china copy UK trademarks as their own registration. 

The English brand Thomas Pink has used the logo PINK on his clothing line and accessories, yet Victoria Secrets infringed of PINK registered trademark and were taken to court, which concludes that Victoria Secrets have infringed Thomas Pink's logo.
