Punk

Friday 28 November 2014

In the early 70's Vivienne Westwood designed a t-shirt with a Swastika and Christ hanging upside down, which is very offensive towards the Jewish community and Christian community. These sorts of issues are forgotten in areas were disposable income is high, controversial promotions were not unusual in the 70's so punk and rock were categorised by their clothing, haircuts and objects.

Mod, Rock, Punk were the groups trying to outrank each other, look to find the most outrageous looks however in todays society youths are aware of the importance of good presentation and the power of trends.

Within the fashion industry culture is taken very seriously and the media would not accept that sort of offence like back in the 70's were their was a more independent look about fashion it represented an era.

Punk Vs Disco

Therefore these outrageous designs are no longer on the market, and designers are aware of the money that is accessible now,  people are interested in the high street trends, music and celebrities.
